Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sydney (Northwestern Girl)
August 29, 2008 · Leave a Comment
Order Of Operations. It gave us trouble on the last test.
Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sydney; parenthesis, exponents, multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction from left to right. Right?
Okay, it was really Sally.
Let’s try one. (Evaluate, solve this expression)
4 + 3 X 6 – 2
No parenthesis, or exponents so first we multiply.
4 + 18 – 2
Next, addition or subtraction from left to right.
22 - 2 = 20
You try these expressions:
11 + (5 + 3) divided by 2
and
3 + n X 4 – 1 if n = 5
and
36 divided by 6 – 4 + 1

We have scheduled our Candlelight Dinner for Tuesday, December 16th. Please write this important date on your calendars. A mom knows a caterer and has volunteered to coordinate the room set up and the food. This is an MAI tradition, “Abe and Cheerleader” and all.

Training For Middle School – Step By Step
August 29, 2008 · Leave a Comment
The long summer is over. We are back to work getting ready for the challenges at Cross and Wilson. That starts with using our planners. Last week thirteen students had all their assignments completed and turned in on time. This week that number has increased to seventeen students. We are working with the other students to get that number to one hundred percent. … and I have miles to go before I sleep.
Good night Dickens.
