The final list of students to start the year has been finalized. the current breakdown is as follows:
(4th girls – 5), (4th boys – 9), (fifthgirls – 6), and (fifth boys – 5), for a total of twenty-five students. Welcome. Several are new to Copper Creek.
Parents and students who took home math materials for the summer please return those today when you drop off your supplies.
Big Announcement: Miss Ronnie is engaged. Be sure to drop by her room and congratulate her. We are happy about her good news.
Our blog now has hits from around the nation. Check out the map by clicking on it. Maybe we will soon go global. Blog-o-mania is running wild. We have even heard from the Candy Man. I wonder if he still has his squirt gun.

Reading Rocks, Math Rules

The 2008-2009 theme for reading this year is Reading Rocks. The Accelerated Reading Committee met and to receive an Honors Trophy this year 3rd grade is at 75 points, fourth grade is at 125 points, and fifth grade is at 150 points. The school record held by Jacob is still at 1064 points. Last year a first grader read over 300 points. accelerated Reader is a great program to set your our goals and monitor your own reading comprehension progress. I love it and so do many kids.
