Hello, our names are Morgan and Shannon. We are both 8th graders at Cross Middle School, and have achieved 4.0 averages for the past two years. At Cross, the teachers are both resourceful and kind. Even though it may sound a lot harder, middle school is not much harder than elementary school. Our favorite subject is math, and we are both going into geometry which is 10th grade math.
Here are some tips on how to survive middle school:
1. Always do your homework or else you will get lunch detention
2. Do not procrastinate or you will have a hard time and unhappiness
3. Make new friends
4. Don’t chew gum or else you will have to stay after school to scrape gum off of the campus.
5. Always follow the dress code or you will have to wear your P.E. uniform
6. Listen to your teachers, they will be able to help you
7. Join MATHCOUNTS! Or other extra curricular activities
8. Lastly, have fun!
Thank you for reading our Blog. Have a great day, the choice is yours.

Reading ought to be about comprehension; getting meaning from the text. The student getting meaning from the text themselves, not with the teacher explaining it, digesting it for them, giving them the important ideas and concept. The students need to learn the use their reading skills that include their analytical and critical thinking skills. They need to be able to comprehend non-fiction and reading in a content area with the same skill that they bring to reading fiction.

Today former student Tori, who lives in China and attends an American school, visited our class. Tori attended Copper Creek five years ago. It was nice seeing her and her mom and catching up on all the things they have been doing. Tori had the lead part in a production of Grease. Tori plans to go to the U of A and study music. Tori has kept up with several her friends that live in Tucson. It was nice of her to stop by and we enjoyed the visit. Good luck to Tori in the future.

I am in Mr. Floore’s classroom helping Mr. Floore get ready for Parent Orientation right now. I have been writing things down on the SMART Board for awhile. We have made math folders, name tags for the desk, clothespins for the drawings, and posters for the new school supplies. The room now looks very different from last year, when I was in his class. This year, I will be in Wilson. I am nervous to start middle school. I want the summer to last forever. I have gone on many vacations this summer. I have also taken some classes, and gone to some camps. I have read a few books, and I have competed in swimming.
